Information
The C1 Complex Rehabilitation Funday at Castle Hill Hospital is a community-focused fundraising event supporting specialised rehabilitation for patients with acquired brain injuries (ABI) and complex needs.
As many of you will know, every year we take part to help raise valuable funds for Ward C1 Castle Hill. The fundraiser held at the state-of-the-art C1 Ward, the day features games, tombola’s, live entertainment, and social activities, with funds supporting therapy services like the rehab gym, garden, and virtual reality programs. Headway will as usual have a stall at this event, to help as we do annually to assist with the C1 Ward’s fundraising efforts
Ward C1 at Castle Hill Hospital is a dedicated specialist rehabilitation ward. Many of our members have had some involvement with Ward C1, the rehabilitation received was vital to their recovery.
During and after any hospital stay, especially because of a head injury, some patients experience significant weakness. This may be due to their illness and the associated period of inactivity of being hospitalised. Many patients improve after their initial treatment but sometimes patients need further care and support to get back to their previous level of functioning. This is particularly more so in those with complex health conditions, such as after acquired brain injury or other neurological conditions and those patients who require prolonged intensive care treatment. These patients benefit from specialist rehabilitation provided by the team on Ward C1.
This year the fundraiser will take place on 20th June 2026 between 1pm and 4pm.
Our last fundraiser at Castle Hill had a fantastic turnout, we had home bakes goodness, amazing weather, family games, tombola’s and much much more. We hope this year will be just as good.
Please join us and help raise funds for the C1 Complex Rehabilitation ward at Castle Hill Hospital so their remarkable work can continue.
