Alcohol at Christmas

18 Dec , 2019 News

At this time of year, one of the most frequent questions is can I drink alcohol if I have suffered a brain injury.

The individual effects of alcohol will not be the same for everyone and we strongly advise you to take care when consuming any alcoholic beverage. However, it is well known that your tolerance to alcohol is much lower following a brain injury.

Headway UK have kindly put together a factsheet offering some hints and tips on this topic. The factsheet is readily available for download, however should you require a paper copy please speak with a member of the committee.

For further information please click here to visit the Headway UK website and download their factsheet titled ‘Alcohol after brain injury: tips for families, friends and carers’.

We ask that all of our members, friends and family have a truly wonderful Christmas and New Year but we urge you all to take care.

If you are unsure, or have any questions, please speak with a committee member.
